About the Subject

The book prescribed for the FY and SYJC is "En Enchanges". It deals with French grammar, lifestyle and culture. The book also contains examples of documents, such as, passport, visas, train tickets, timetables, menucards, advertisements, photographs and humorous illustrations and this enlivens the experience of learning. It is a scoring subject. The knowledge of the French language is an asset and will help students who wish to pursue careers in the Hotel and the Tourism industry especially. A student scored a SECOND RANK in French at the HSC Board exams in 2008.

I have been teaching French language in Sophia College since 2011. I have been passionate about French as a language. It is an interesting language, and its study is like an art. It exposes one to the French history and its culture. My hobbies are reading fiction and biographies of well-known personalities, travel, and spirituality. I have completed an ‘Inner Engineering’ course at the Isha Yoga Centre, Mumbai, and am a practitioner of the same.
